- By day, the Chief Executive of CODE, Aotearoa’s economic development agency for indie videogame developers, funded by the NZ government.
- By night, director of a handful of New Zealand-based independent game development studios, including Deep Field Games (Abiotic Factor), Usual Suspects Studios (It’s Only Money) and formerly Spotted Kiwi Interactive (XERA: Survival).
- In the gloaming between night and day, on the Investment Committee of Alt Ventures’ Gaming Opportunities Fund - with a gaming and creative tech focus.
Music -> Journalism -> Games -> PR -> Business Development
- In the Silurian period, I played in bands and wrote about drumming and percussion as editor of the late, lamented Rhythm Magazine.
- During the late Permian period, an editor and publisher of videogame magazines and websites (ZERO, PC Zone etc).
- After the second Dennis Publishing mass extenction event, spent the Jurassic period as European PR Director for Activision (from Tony Hawk through Call of Duty to Guitar Hero) and LucasArts (from Jedi Knight through KOTOR to LEGO Star Wars).
- For the whole of the Cretaceous, owned and operated Renegade PR Ltd, a boutique marcoms agency for videogame firms (clients included Activision, Disney, Irrational Games, Warner Bros and others).
